Computers, Printing, and Copying

Computers

The Parlin and Shute Memorial libraries offer computers for public use. Patrons will need a library card in order to log on to a computer if they live within the state of Massachusetts. If a patron who does not live in Massachusetts wishes to use a computer, they can ask the circulation or information desk for a guest pass that is good for one day. Each session lasts for 60 minutes. If there are no other users waiting for an open computer, patrons may continue their use for longer than their allotted 60 minutes.

At each library, there are computers available upstairs for adult and young adult use and downstairs in the children’s rooms for children’s use.

Printing

Patrons are able to print using the available computers. Printing is $0.10 per page in black and white and $0.25 per page in color. We accept $1s, $5s, nickels, dimes, and quarters only. NOTE: we do not have the change to break larger bills.

Copying

Both libraries have copy machines available for public use. Copies are $0.10 per page, and we accept $1s, $5s, nickels, dimes, and quarters.

Faxing and Scanning

The libraries do NOT have faxing or scanning capabilities at this time. We suggest the following should you need these services:

  • Visit the money transfer agency Vera Moreno at 18 Chelsea Street in Everett for faxing services
  • Download the free app “Tiny Scanner” from the Google Play or Apple App Store on your smartphone
  • Ask a reference librarian if you need any help!
