The Everett Public Libraries were proud to host members of the Everett community at the Parlin Library on August 14th for the first night of FRED Talks. Named for the library’s namesake, Frederick Parlin, presenters were invited to create presentations on subjects they were passionate about. Following the call, volunteers did not disappoint. Presentation topics included the following: “Re-evalutating Herodotus”, “5 Things that Don’t Make Sense about the Brain”, “In-TEA-resting Facts about Tea”, “The Transmission of Memory in the Case of Bois Caiman”, and more!
It was an engaging night of learning, laughter, and good conversation, and the Everett Public Libraries were happy to provide a platform for so many talented speakers to share their knowledge. “I learned so much from the different presentations, and it seemed like everyone had a good time asking questions! We hope to do more events like this, where our patrons can share things that are important to them, so keep an eye out for more opportunities in the future!” says Aubri, the Information Services Librarian.
