This year’s event at the Everett Public Libraries was a memorable and fun-filled celebration of all things literary and spooky! From thrilling costume parades to cozy corners, delicious bites, and an unforgettable maze, we’re excited to share the highlights of this fun-filled evening.
Generous Donations from the Friends of the Everett Public Libraries
A huge thank you to the Friends of the Everett Public Libraries for their generous support in making this event a success. They donated three incredible raffle baskets for attendees to win:
- A Cozy-Themed Basket: to keep you warm this fall,
- A Self-Care-Themed Basket: for those moments of relaxation, and
- A Cooking-Themed Basket: perfect for trying out new recipes.
We also want to give a special shoutout to a member of the Friends who volunteered her time during the event to ensure everything ran smoothly. Heather, your help was invaluable, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
Additionally, the Friends group provided funds for event decorations, which added a wonderfully festive atmosphere to the night. Your support truly made the event come to life.
A Literary Costume Parade
One of the highlights of the evening was our literary costume parade, where guests were encouraged to dress as their favorite literary characters. The creativity on display was truly impressive, and we’re so happy to have had such a vibrant selection of costumes. After careful judging, we selected three winners:
- 1st Place: The White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland
- 2nd Place: The iconic Mary Poppins
- 3rd Place: Dorothy Gale from The Wizard of Oz
Prizes included: Nightmare Before Christmas pillow plushies, a stack of gilded classic books, and a Everett Public Libraries drawstring backpack packed with library-themed swag. What a wonderful way to celebrate the literary world!
A Cozy Corner for Rest and Relaxation
As much as we love a good party, we know that sometimes you need a moment to unwind. That’s why we set up a Cozy Corner where guests could relax, take a break from the action, and enjoy some peaceful quiet. Whether it was curling up with a book, engaging with a fellow attendee, or simply enjoying the ambiance, this area was a mini retreat.
A Haunted Maze with Literary Characters
For those who enjoy a bit of adventure, our haunted maze provided an unforgettable experience. As guests ventured through, they encountered beloved literary characters – some friendly, some a bit spooky!
Photo Booth Fun to Capture the Night
Guests snapped photos in their fantastic costumes. From funny faces to fierce poses, the photobooth was a popular spot all evening long.
Dancing the Night Away
What’s a celebration without dancing? Our dance floor was alive with energy as guests let loose and let their inner literary characters come to life! It was the perfect way to shake off the spooky vibes and get into the spirit of fun.
A Masquerade to Remember!
Overall, the event was a great success, with a fantastic turnout and an atmosphere full of energy and excitement. We were thrilled to see so many new faces, and we look forward to doing it all again next year – bigger and better than ever!
Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and contributed to making this event so special. We can’t wait to see you all again next year for another memorable evening at the Everett Public Libraries!
